Location of Position
Remote candidates will be considered; however, preference will be given to candidates that are based in NYC and can commit to a minimum of 2 in-office days.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, the Associate, Counsel, will work across verticals within CleanCapital, including capital markets and finance, origination, project contracts, asset management, acquisitions and general corporate contracts. Experience in distributed generation solar and/or storage project finance and development is a plus.
Core Responsibilities
Manage deal closings for the debt and tax equity financings of solar and storage projects.
Track third party closing deliverables, including consultant reports, contract amendments, and title documents.
Coordinate with external counsel to maximize efficiency and manage legal expenses.
Draft ancillary documents required in connection with debt and tax equity financings, acquisitions and asset management, including corporate governance and other deliverables.
Support corporate legal matters, including entity formation, governance, compliance, and contract management.
Work with internal teams across the company (development, construction, finance, acquisitions and asset management) to review and draft contracts and advise on contract interpretation.

Education Requirements
Law degree from an accredited law school
Must be licensed in good standing and admitted to practice in relevant state bar
Technical Skills and Experience
Must have at least 2 years’ experience at a top tier law firm as a practicing attorney in the corporate or project finance (or similar) transaction group.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion.
Technical understanding of clean energy business processes.
Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Excellence in Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
